Pharmacy Technician Assistant Director of Order Entry

The primary purpose of the position is to provide comprehensive oversite and supervision to the Order Entry department. Key responsibilities include training, scheduling and day-to-day department operations. You will collaborate with teams across departments to optimize workflow and work closely with the Director of Order Entry.

Monday - Friday daytime hours (Possible rotating shifts & weekends)

Requirements

  • IL Pharmacy Tech license that is active and in good standing
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Long Term Care pharmacy setting or similiar
  • HS Diploma, or equivalent

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure Department/Supervisor/Leads follow procedures and policies of the Order Entry Department.
  • Communicate necessary information regarding changes, hours, needs of the company to team
  • Creating and disseminating schedule for Medical Records/Order Entry Department
  • Work with other Managers to ensure smooth work flow between departments and meeting dispatch goals
  • Hiring of new employees, including the review of resumes, interviewing and onboarding of all new hires. 
  • Develop and maintain training program and checklist for new hires. Working with Supervisors/Leads to ensure that new employees are properly trained.
  • Develop and implement procedures/polices for the department.
  • Counsel and discipline employees as necessary
  • Prepare for and run monthly team meetings
  • Prepare and present annual reviews for staff members
  • Review and prepare biweekly payroll
  • Set up Framework and ECM needs for the company.
  • Attend transition meetings for new facilities.
  • Ensure that all information is entered in a timely manner for new facilities including Medications/Medical Records
  • Work on the following when needed:
    • Answer Calls – Check orders/Refill Orders/Direct Callers to correct Department
    • Triage ECM/E-RX
    • Enter Refill/New/New Admissions/Re-admission Orders received via ECM/E-RX/Phone
    • Enter Medical Records via Yellow Physician Order Sheets/Fax-for Facilities which require update/recap
    • Print Medical Records for homes which require printed paper Medical Records/Recap
    • Follow training procedures/policies of the Order Entry/Medical Records Departments
    • Field calls for Medical Records issues and requests
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Order Entry
